Another coronavirus death at Sydney care home, amid fears over new home outbreak in NSW Blue Mountains

A sixth resident of a Sydney care home has died from coronavirus.
The man was aged 83 and had other health problems.
“We continue to think of, pray for, and remember all our residents who have died and for their families as they mourn the loss of their loved ones,” Anglicare Sydney said in a statement.

A worker at the home was the first to be diagnosed, with the cluster now reaching 48 cases.
Meanwhile,  another nursing home in NSW has been struck by a coronavirus outbreak with a worker testing positive for COVID-19 less than a week after working a shift at the facility in the Blue Mountains.
Catholic Healthcare Bodington in Wentworth Falls is home to 120 elderly men and women, and now all its residents and dozens of staff are at feared to be at risk of contracting coronavirus.
NSW Health confirmed today the person that tested positive did not work there while they had symptoms, but were diagnosed six days after their last shift.
Testing is underway to determine if others at the facility have been infected.
“In the last 24 hours, we have seen cases in Blue Mountains area,” NSW Health Executive Director of Health Protection Dr Jeremy McAnulty said.

Across NSW, new cases peaked today at 12.
