A fifth resident of a Sydney aged care home has died of coronavirus.
The woman, who lived at Newmarch House in Caddens, was 96 and had other health problems, Anglicare Sydney said a statement.
“We grieve with the family, our staff who have cared for her, other residents who have come to know her, and everyone who has been thinking and praying for us during this difficult time,” the statement said.
“Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers.”
Grant Millard, CEO of Anglicare Sydney, said: “I am thankful that a close relative was able to visit her last night before she died.”
At least 42 cases have been confirmed in the cluster linked to Newmarch House.
An employee worked several shifts at the home and another in Leura while infected but asymptomatic.
Residents’ families have demanded better care.
