The family of a South Australian woman who died of the coronavirus after embarking on a cruise with the Ruby Princess have spoken about their heartbreaking goodbye.
Linda Lavender and her husband Stephen boarded the ship in hope of the holiday of a lifetime.

Her family said Linda had no underlying medical conditions and had almost 200 sick days up her sleeve.
“It is devastating, she was the heart of the family,” daughter Jaime told 9News.
“She was everybody’s mother, very caring, always laughing and always up for a chat.”
When Linda left the ship she felt fine, but developed a fever and a sore throat back in Adelaide.
She was admitted to hospital where her health deteriorated fast.
Jaime said the family’s final farewell had to be through a video call.
“We rang the phone in the room, the nurse put the phone against mum’s ear, and held her hand as we said goodbye,” she said.

Linda is one of two South Australians who was on the Ruby Princess to have since died from the coronavirus.
The other is 74-year-old Roger Leaney, a retired diesel fitter from Adelaide’s north-east.
His widow Veronica also has the virus.
Mr Leaney’s family say he was a dedicated family man who was fit and active, and involved in a wide range of social activities including lawn bowls, golf, and the gym.
