“So we thought the least we could do is feed the frontline and give out free food.”
Fishbowl urged customers to keep an eye out for local champions, and the nominations came rolling in.
Customer Gary Nunn advocated for the head nurse at the local testing centre.
“He was someone that really needed some good news, and I know a lot of the personal sacrifices that he’s put in lately,” Mr Nunn said.
Mr Pestalozzi said the restaurant decided to give a delivery to the whole ward.
Head nurse Curtis Waho said it “strengthened morale”.
Customer Ella Barlin nominated the local fruit market.

“I was having a think through the essential workers and thought they might have gone unnoticed,” she said.
Harris Farm Bondi manager Matt Shipley said it was great to have some appreciation from the community.
Fishbowl has pledged to keep feeding those workers on the frontline.
“We’re just grateful to be open, there are so many operators that have had to shut,” Mr Pestalozzi said.
